Meet the artist herself

Hey, I'm Delia!

I'm an artist and writer based in East Devon, a colourist and abstract painter who works intuitively, letting each painting emerge in its own time. I collect inspiration like a magpie and translate it onto paper and canvas using expressive marks, bold colour, and unconventional tools.

I'm passionate about low-waste art and challenging the idea that creativity requires expensive materials. I work with things like:

Discontinued wallpaper and old paint testers rescued from landfill

Spray paint dregs and unconventional mark-making tools

Found and reclaimed materials that celebrate beauty without embarrassment

Fblthp the Lost

This was commissioned by my local games shop. I was given the broad brief to create a painting based on a recurring Magic the Gathering card.

Corvid

This piece was specifically requested to be a crow. However I was allowed a lot of free reign to create this painting. I communicated regularly with the buyer regarding the background colour and focusing solely on the face of the bird.

Toad of Existential Dread

I created this Toad after a different painting I had previously created. The buyer however did request the inclusion of a lot of pink and blue.

Weaver Bird

This mixed media work was commissioned to tie in with another painting the buyer already owned. She wanted specific colours, but was flexible on the subject matter. After consultations we decided to move forward with the weaver bird as it fitted the brief and tied in with the other artworks in situ.
